cinematic randomness: The Jaws Family Tree

Last night "Jaws: The Revenge" was on TV thanks to 7mate, who managed achieved the impossible of making the film worse through excessive censorship. However the film itself did look great in high definition. As I casually watched the film in all it's absurdity, I got to thinking about how all the sharks in the "Jaws" franchise relate to each other. Never be afraid to ask the tough questions in life people. This a topic I've casually reserved before and after about an hours worth of reading last night I can now share you with you all the general consensus. This is based on fan opinions/theories and elements from the novelization of the sequels.

The shark in "Jaws 2" is the female partner of the original shark in "Jaws". This female was apparently pregnant during the events of the second film and gave birth to it's offspring moments before being electrocuted by Chief Brody. This one and only offspring who's sex is unknown, is apparently the bizarrely vindictive shark we meet in "Jaws: The Revenge". The shark in "Jaws 3" is a separate rogue specimen entirely, although it has been suggested that it's the granddaughter of Mama and Papa Jaws. Having said that I think I'll just leave it there.
